Fiona and Phil's Beautiful Pink and Blue Wedding

Last Friday my studio was overflowing with gorgeous pink peonies, deep blue delphinium, papery scabious and little yellow billy buttons. It smelled of lavender and wheat and you could become hypnotised by the scent of the peonies if you stood too close....

The next day I drove up to Crear, perched on a hillside on the very edge of the west coast of Scotland, and carefully filled it with all those pinks and blues for Fiona and Phil's wedding. Fiona - who makes beautiful painted textiles as Bluebellgray - had so many amazing ideas which came to fruition at the wedding. From using her own gorgeous paintings to decorate the venue, to her collections of ceramics and glasswear which housed the flowers on the tables, to the lovingly hand made top hats and amazing table plan.

It was an absolute pleasure creating flowers for this wedding, Fiona's unique style and beautiful colour choices really made it special.

On the job

Hours worked Friday and Saturday this week - 29

Hours slept between working - 2.5....

Cups of coffee consumed - about 40, and 3 cans of energy juice

Miles driven - over 250

I'm feeling pretty exhausted, but its all worth it for the huge enjoyment of working on a lovely couple's wedding flowers. I'm pretty much in my element when I've got a flower in my paw - pictorial evidence below :-)

Lazy Sunday

This morning there were soft boiled eggs and toast soldiers. There was bacon and strong strong coffee. And there were loving pussy cats on laps, and magazines were pored over. I don't get many chances to do this, and it felt like absolute heaven!

I had a super long day yesterday arranging flowers for a wonderful wedding right out on the west coast of Scotland. It was beautiful! There were paper pompoms, vintage blue Ball jars and milk glass vases, tiny sweet menu cards and little sprigs of heather at each place setting. I brought armfuls of peonies and sweet peas, and big blue delphiniums. The bride was dancing in her dressing gown with her maids when I arrived. Lillian and Leonard were there taking gorgeous pictures and the lovely Carole was catering. 

I took the Holga too, lent to my by a sweet friend, and took a few shots on the beach after I'd finished at the wedding. I can't wait to see how the images turn out - I'm not much of a photographer but I love taking pictures, and don't need any excuse to borrow a quirky old camera!

I'm also super excited because its Bluebellgray's wedding in two weeks time and I totally heart her and her sweet fiance. Their wedding is going to be A.M.A.Z.I.N.G....can't wait to see the pictures by Lisa Devlin afterwards!
