Last Friday my studio was overflowing with gorgeous pink peonies, deep blue delphinium, papery scabious and little yellow billy buttons. It smelled of lavender and wheat and you could become hypnotised by the scent of the peonies if you stood too close....
The next day I drove up to Crear, perched on a hillside on the very edge of the west coast of Scotland, and carefully filled it with all those pinks and blues for Fiona and Phil's wedding. Fiona - who makes beautiful painted textiles as Bluebellgray - had so many amazing ideas which came to fruition at the wedding. From using her own gorgeous paintings to decorate the venue, to her collections of ceramics and glasswear which housed the flowers on the tables, to the lovingly hand made top hats and amazing table plan.
It was an absolute pleasure creating flowers for this wedding, Fiona's unique style and beautiful colour choices really made it special.
Many thanks to the lovely Lisa Devlin for all the photographs (except the one of the cake, taken by my lovely assistant Karyn). You can see more of Lisa's gorgeous work and the rest of the wedding here on her blog.*
*Warning - you may be overcome by all the pretties!
Congratulations Fiona and Phil, you are one of the loveliest couples I have worked for. Thank you for letting me be a part of your wedding xx
